Mr Burberry Perfume – A pleasant very clean Scent suited for Office or Casual Wear

The Fragrance

Burberry’s website describes Mr Burberry as,

“Fresh and crafted top notes of crisp zesty grapefruit with a seductive base of earthy vetiver and smokey guaiac wood.”

Top Notes: Grapefruit, Tarragon, Cardamom

Middle Notes: Birch leaf, Nutmeg, Cedarwood

Base notes: Sandalwood, Vetiver, Guaiac wood

“Mr Burberry is a structure of a classical aromatic fougere that has inspired so many famous fragrances, but this has been totally remodeled and remastered to introduce a radically contemporary creation in its proportion and ingredients.” WWD

Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian says, “What I did was to modernise the ingredients – geranium leaves, lavender, coumarin – to keep the same tempo and rhythm, but with different instruments.”

Those instruments are grapefruit, tarragon, cardamom, nutmeg oil, cedar, sandalwood, vetiver and guaiac wood, with birch leaf in the heart notes.

“The birch leaf bridges between the fresh top notes and the warm base notes like two arms in a chain – it brings the warmth to the top,” says Kurkdjian.

The outcome is a perfect balance between “sensuality and freshness” – gq-magazine

Overall, Mr. Burberry is a pleasant clean scent suited for office or casual wear. It is the type of fragrance you can gift to anyone.

The Bottle

“The bottle is inspired by the iconic black Burberry trench coat, its quality, craftsmanship, style and timeless appeal, and honours its signature design details: bold and masculine, the weighted cap references horn-look buttons, while a hand-tied knot in English-woven gabardine sits around the neck, celebrating the innovative fabric invented by Thomas Burberry more than 100 years ago.” Burberry’s website

The neck of the glass bottle is decorated with the same gabardine material Burberry uses to make its amous trenchcoats.
